Hormone Balancing Raw Carrot Salad

 Many of you on Instagram recommended this recipe developed by Dr. Ray Peat that helps aid hormone balance. His research shows that carrots contain a unique fiber that binds to excess estrogen + endotoxins to help eliminate them from the body. This results in less intense and painful menstrual symptoms like cramping, headaches, blemishes, etc. In addition, raw carrots also aid with digestion as well as liver + thyroid function. Added benefits from other ingredients in the salad include olive oil to reduce bacterial overgrowth in the digestive tract, apple cider vinegar to increase the effects of carrot fibers, and salt to increase trace minerals in body. I absolutely recommend trying this out at least a week leading up to your menstrual cycle especially if you are prone to period symptoms.

  • 2 peeled carrots
  • splash of coconut liquid aminos
  • splash of apple cider vinegar 
  • sesame seeds
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • cracked black pepper
  • squeeze of lemon or lime
  1. Peel carrots length wise into long ribbons. 
  2. Add peeled carrots to a bowl and add in the remaining ingredients.
  3. Toss everything together until carrots are evenly dressed and enjoy!
