Balance

Happy Friday!!

Not complaining that it’s Friday but HOW is it already Friday?! To be honest, as a new blogger, I start panicking when it comes to thinking of each week’s post and to be even more honest, I usually don’t write my posts until Thursday nights. Yikes… I know… but I have to say I’ve completely surprised myself that I’ve actually posted once a week for the past 3.5 months!

Lately (like the past week), I’ve been overwhelmed with having so many things on my plate and I’ve been thinking about what it means and more so what it looks like to be balanced. Social media makes everyone look like they’re balancing life like a pro but that’s all nonsense.

Behind the images, I’m a disaster 90% of the time. I’m freaking out about what I’m going to prioritize first, how much I’m going to spend on each goal, and how in the world I’m going to accomplish everything on my list in time and be successful.

The way I’ve been thinking about how to achieve balance is that we need to stay open-minded and be self-aware of our activities and time. By open-minded, I mean not being stubborn or in denial about maybe having to change things around after a little self-reflection. Stop your routine for a minute and evaluate how you do what you do. Are you happy with it? Are you missing a good diet, peace, family time, alone time, friend time?

I know for me, I spend way too much of my time on Instagram, I take way too many photos rather than being in the present at times, I spend late nights studying because I was on Instagram too long, I have an eh diet because I hate cooking, and I haven’t seen old friends because I prioritize being with my family on my downtime- These aren’t terrible things but as I reflect I realize that they’re so out of proportion, and that’s the problem.

I’m all about doing you and being selfish and doing the things that make you happy- I think I’ve preached it in every post, BUT everything in moderation right?

SO, here’s to trying to be more conscientious of balancing the gazillion things we have and being kind to ourselves if we don’t get it right all the time.

Today’s Look

Basically, an outfit like this is worn every weekend if I’m not in a groufit. So easy and simple to put together- and cute in my eyes! These shorts have been worn all summer long and I highly recommend them as well as these sandals that I’ve been wearing for 3 or 4 years now! (everything is linked below in pictures so click there!)

THE SHORTS I’M WEARING ARE ON SALE!!

My SixtyStax bracelets have been the most perfect compliment to all my outfits! Personal favorites are the Ready, Set, Wanderlust and the Pink Paradise. If you’ve been on the fence about getting some, I’ve asked them to set up a code so you can get 20% off!! Just use code “shopviv” at checkout!!

Hope you have a beautiful weekend! Also, please look at my INCREDIBLY CUTE GRANDMA!
