Happy Friday!!
I’m sitting here thinking of what I can possibly write after a long and stressful week of studying with only more stress and studying to come. The first thing that comes to mind is to write about faith and prayer because at the end of the day, these two things are what have brought me strength and peace throughout these past several months.
Let me start by saying that I grew up going to church and catholic school, but honestly, I never felt a strong and deep religious connection until the start of the year. I don’t know what it was, maybe the fact that I felt like I lost a lot all at once and needed to turn to something good, maybe it was something else, I’m not sure.
Whatever it may have been, I began to pray. I prayed for happiness. I prayed for health. I prayed for peace in my heart. I prayed to be led down the right path. I prayed for signs. I prayed for a stronger connection with God. I prayed for a lot of things, and I prayed often. I truly believed that my prayers would be heard, and that everything would happen as it should- to me that’s faith.
I can’t even begin to tell you how having faith and prayer has impacted my life. Each and every prayer has been heard, and continues to be heard. They allow me to let go of the little and big things in life that would otherwise drive me up a wall. My faith is what helps me continue through each and every day, the good ones and the bad ones. I have faith that every action, every decision, every person and thing I see is for a reason.
A couple months back I received a text message from a friend I hadn’t spoken to in two years and she simply asked for my address. This was right when I started my blog, I had just moved, so I thought oh, maybe she wants to send me a piece of clothing or little gift for the apartment. I was completely surprised when I received the package THE NEXT DAY. I was even more surprised when I opened the box and found a hand-written letter and a daily prayer book lying underneath. Tears streamed down my face. It was one of the most beautiful gifts I’d ever receive and in that moment, I knew that this was just one more sign that my prayers of growing a stronger connection with God was being answered.
I wish I had the time to sit and write about every single incidence where I knew my prayer was being answered, but unfortunately I have to get back to studying!
Even if you don’t believe in God, you can still pray and have faith. I promise it will bring you peace and your eyes will be open in a way they’ve never been.
Today’s Look
Always keeping it simple! This dainty/silky top is from Two Feathers! Jeans are 40% OFF from JCrew that I’ve had for years! They’re stretchy and super high waisted, which I personally love, and they are the perfect ankle length. Sandals are one of my new favorites- you can wear them with literally everything! Bracelets that I have not taken off are from SixtyStax! Love them so much!!
Okay, I have a lot to study this weekend but hoping to visit a couple coffee shops I’ve had on my list for a while! Hope you have a beautiful weekend!
Say some prayers and have some faith,
xo

P.S.- The daily prayer book is Jesus Calling- Enjoying Peace in His Presence by Sarah Young. I highly recommend it if you want to grow your faith!
